A raster image is a rectangular area of dots called pixels. A picture is created by assigning each dot a color using various drawing tools. All photographs and most pictures found on the web are in fact raster images.

ラスタイメージとは、ピクセルと呼ばれる矩形のドットの集まりによって形成され、各ドットに様々な描画ツールを使用して色を割り当てることでピクチャが表現されます。現在ウェブサイトで使用されている写真や画像などの殆どは事実上のラスタイメージといえます。
