Just a simple forum about how this website looks

So I have been in this website for a while now. But I still can't figure out how there is only light theme here and the UI looks like from an early 2000's website. I can't tell if this makes the website worse or better. If I have to rate it, the website looks like an 8/10.

The design this website uses is WAY better than the material design, material design is slowy and modern!!! EWWWW

@Cursoer you can change the background on the bottom of the screen it should say select background and it'll give you a selection of backgrounds or themes you can choose from.
