How to make Favicon?

I've a website named www.vehicles-world.com. I want to make a Fevicon for this. Has anyone got idea how to make it?

If you have an image, you can convert image to icon online. Otherwise, you may use for example RWPaint to draw an image, or RWIconEditor to directly make an icon from image or 3D.

Another question - what is the ideal size for this icon? Also, will it remain same or does it vary based on device (tablet/laptop/mobile browser)?

The size of a favicon is 16x16, since it also gets displayed next to the URL of your site in a browser's address bar. The 16x16 size for Favicon is suitable for web browsers. But the size varies on multiple platforms and devices.

The first step is to create your image. A favicon image can be created with a program like Fireworks, Photoshop, Corel Paint, or a free, open-source alternative like GIMP.
