You rock!!! I can't believe that Adobe Photoshop doesn't support .webp here at the end of 2019. There are some out-dated plugins out there that claim to provide .webp support for Photoshop, but getting them to work in the latest version of Photoshop is 'challenging'. Your command line webp2gif.exe worked perfectly the first time I used it! I love how it will convert either an individual .webp file *or* a directory of .webp files!! I'm sticking some keywords in here in hopes that other people who were having the same issues I was having will find your site! Adobe Photoshop open convert webp .webp gif .gif image format 2019 2020

EXACTLY what I wanted, noting I did not. Brilliant simplicity. ๐Ÿ˜Š

user iconAnonymous on March 6th 2020 0

It worked out for me. Used in for 100 files. Unfortunately, Avira is throwing some Warnings. But the Program works! ^^

user iconAnonymous on March 16th 2020 0

Thanks but the quality of final gifs is not good can you please fix it to use the maximum number of colors in a GIF 255 ? now it produces shaddy images with low number of colors .. or if i am using wrong parameteres or something wrong please let me know ? thanks again

this simple soft works great, it's fast, easy to use, just perfect. Thank you!

user iconAnonymous on May 16th 2020 0

Absolutely awesome, yes I am in awe.
I converted 300 webp animations to gif only 12 failed and now my dj video sets are what I imagined 20 years ago! great app.

user iconAnonymous on May 24th 2020 0

๐Ÿ˜ <type your comment here>It works!! I can't believe how easy and simple it was.
Thanks man.

user iconAnonymous on June 5th 2020 0

Thank you, you're a life saver.

user iconAnonymous on June 12th 2020 0

Wish the quality was not so bad. It's unusable.

user iconAnonymous on July 3rd 2020 0

Just what I was looking for, but as another reviewer has mentioned, the output quality is lacking. Any chance this can be improved?

user iconAnonymous on July 9th 2020 0

This would be great if the quality was better. Woks well but images quality bad.

user iconAnonymous on July 10th 2020 0

Just use Gimp. It's free and the latest version supports webp to gif conversion, including animated gifs. see this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T3mp0EoxBA

user iconAnonymous on July 26th 2020 0

so fucking good! the best I've ever tried!

user iconAnonymous on August 1st 2020 0

Very big thanks

user iconAnonymous on August 2nd 2020 0

Well, I just tried to use it on 10 webp files and yes, it did convert all those files from webp to gif, however it did NOT keep the animation, so useless to me, since the animation was the important piece of the file. So, I am not sure how it is possible it worked for other users here. I am using an up-to-date version of Windows 10, but I don't think that's the issue here.

user iconAnonymous on September 24th 2020 0

that is very cool

user iconAnonymous on October 9th 2020 0

neat

user iconAnonymous on October 22nd 2020 0

Unusable output quality

user iconAnonymous on December 24th 2020 0

Quality depends heavily on input files. Sometimes it's usable, sometimes it's not. Very unreliable in its current stage.

user iconAnonymous on February 10th 2021 0

the exe converted an animated webp to animated gif just fine for me! Tried on 8 files and it worked great on all 8.

user iconAnonymous on March 3rd 2021 0

webp2gif does convert animated webp files to gif files, but the gif quality is very poor.

user iconAnonymous on March 10th 2021 0

Horrendously bad output quality and no way to affect it. Cannot imagine any scenario this converter would be of any use.

user iconfreestuffaddict on March 13th 2021 0

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT..... Sheeikes Batman.. could this be it ???

that guy who wrote comment about horrendously bad output quality is NOT EXAGGERATING. It really IS horrendous.. it's horrible, there's no better way to describe it. The image is blurred into an abominable wishy-washy mess of extremely oversaturated colors with splotchy streaks of god knows what looks like a picture on a dining room table somebody spilled a splash of coffee that makes the hues and textures have streaks like dripping paint. You can make out that it's some form of the original image you were trying to convert but to anybody else unfamiliar with the original image it is pure trash that looks not even fitting enough to be called amateurish at best. It's just worthless junk. Go ahead, download it. Just for a test, and a laugh. Make sure you don't have any coffee cup on the desk or surface the machine you download it onto..(ha ha)... Careful with that Axe Eugene... (( that's an old Pink Floyd song, for you young whippersnappers ha ha ...)

IT WORKS! And I've converted approximately 400 webp files into GIF files and then converted the GIF files AND Webp files to 1920x1080 video. If it helps the cause, I'll gladly upload the video to my You-Tube channel because folk, this piece of software delivers as perfect a copy of the WEBP file into the GIF file format & is comparable to the same conversion quality when accomplished with GIMP. At this date and time, I owe the developer a couple of dinners. Well done.

user iconAnonymous on April 5th 2021 0

Converted 5 out of 6 without loss of quality. Worked great for them. For one, the output was unusable. Great tool fot the files it works with but it doesn't work with all files.

user iconAnonymous on July 20th 2021 0

Please update this tool ๐Ÿ˜‰, thank you!!

user iconAnonymous on August 1st 2021 0

I was very sceptical about it after searching for solutions in the web for days. You saved me. For real, 140 webp converted into gif in about a minute. Acceptable quality loss, for me a life saver.

user iconAnonymous on August 22nd 2021 0

Wow, amazing ๐Ÿ˜ฎ :-o ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

user iconAnonymous on August 23rd 2021 0

Exactly what I needed. Simple, quick conversion with no or very slight interaction. Sure, image quality may sometimes be worse than the original webp, but I guess that can't be avoided, since the webp image can contain thousands of different colours, and the GIF has a maximum of only 256.

user iconAnonymous on August 24th 2021 0

I've successfully converted 625 animated webp files into animated gifs with some errors that must be somewhat broken files as it does not open with a Photoshop webp plugin. I've tried multiple different programs, both paid and free, but none of them works great for batch files like this one. Great job.

user iconAnonymous on November 1st 2021 0

Works great. Thank you. Currently there are very few tools that can do this offline. ffmpeg, no. Imagemagick, no.

user iconAnonymous on December 8th 2021 0

I've found a much better alternative to this: install imagemagick, then run the following command in a .bat file, placed in the folder with all the animated webp's you want to convert.

magick mogrify -format gif *.webp

user iconAnonymous on January 3rd 2022 0

finally

user iconAnonymous on February 11th 2022 0

Nicely made, failing occasionally but helps a lot. Thank you

user iconAnonymous on July 13th 2022 0

Big Thank's ! This is what we need. Clean, simple and straight to the point. No installer and no bloatware. Big up! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

user iconAnonymous on December 18th 2022 0

Great little program that works... Thank You!!!

user iconAnonymous on January 21st 2023 0

Usability and function perfection.
Having it as a shell option would be great

user iconAnonymous on April 29th 2023 0

I tested this and found the quality of the GIF output files will be as close as possible to the original WebP files, i.e. excellent. webp2gif is a simple program which does only one thing and does it well, I like it.

user iconAnonymous on May 3rd 2023 0

user iconAnonymous on June 28th 2023 0

The drag and drop is nice, but doesn't handle animated GIFs. Can't find parameters to deal with animated GIFs. Do they exist?

user iconVlasta on July 4th 2023 0

If you have problems with a particular file, contact me. Animated gifs are supported.

user iconAnonymous on October 5th 2023 0

Just installed your tool, works perfect.
Thank you.

์ง„ ์งœ , , , , ๋งค ์ง ! !

Real,,,, Magic!!

user iconAnonymous on January 20th 2024 0

Don't try more than 5 or 6 at a time or they will fail. Once a file fails, all the rest will, too.

user iconAnonymous on April 9th 2024 0

i try it but not working

user iconAnonymous on May 25th 2024 0

I agree with the Jan 20th post. Moving more than 4 or 5 at a time will cause ALL of them to fail. Once a file fails, the rest will fail immediately afterward with no further processing.

user iconAnonymous on May 31st 2024 0

PERFECT. MAX 5 images at same time or ERROR.

user iconAnonymous on April 28th 0

Ryzen 7 - 5th gen, 64gb RAM, GeForce 3050, Win11, all drivers good. be it in a folder or multiple files, dragging anything more that 5 webp files and the app pukes. This Really should be mentioned in your 'how to use' section, at least until it is corrected (if that is the plan).

Go back webp2gif.exe - convert animated WebP to GIF page.
