Would these count towards a free license of the program, or do I need to add the 16 bit formats too? Or is there something else I need to do?

It counts, please PM me your name or fill it in your profile - it is needed to generate a serial number.
(Also, please keep the .ico extension in file names. And lastly, only add a tag if there is clear connection - like only use Red if it plays major role in each icon in the set.)

Tags and extensions- not a problem.

how do you change the Microsoft Word icon on your desktop? it wont let me- the button is grey and unclickable (you know what i mean, right) please sent me instructions. THANK YOU 😊
Unfortunately the only way to do so is to use a Dock as far as I am currently aware. ObjectDock is my favorite.

You can also delete the original shortcut and create your own shortcut with a custom icon.

I HATE CHROME'S ICON
CursoredWhat? 4.5 out of 5 stars? The hell? I look at if it's harder for me to draw it...then it's better than my set. ^_^

Hmm...This set looks great! Seriously, I really like it. The quality is great and the colours are good. The only thing is this.Could you make them a little smaller. 
If you are using smaller icons, they will be automatically shrunk by Windows to fit the currect view settings. 
SYNTHCRѺYou should also make icons for the RealWorld cursor and icon editor.

I like all of them, apart from the chrome one, it does not look good. i used all of them tho, there clear and i will recommend them to all people...
