I do like thick borders like this is well. Transparent fills with colored borders brings an opposite feel to what we are usually used to.

I do like big cursors as well, but I enjoy a variety of sizes. Big cursors helps you pinpoint on what you are pointing at on your screen and they are really helpful for those users with sight problems. Various colors also help those with different colorblind problems.
